The Pakatan Harapan presidential council is set to discuss tomorrow if its de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim will hold any government position, says Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"He is not a member of the government, therefore his role will be in the party," he said in a press conference today at the Perdana Leadership Foundation.
"So, as to what his role (in government) will be, I hope to have a presidential council meeting tomorrow.
"It is the presidential council which appoints all of us. If there are going to be any changes involving Anwar, it is the presidential council that must decide," he added.
Earlier today, Anwar was released and obtained a full royal pardon over his sodomy conviction three years ago.
In January, Harapan endorsed Anwar as its prime minister-designate after Mahathir steps down.
PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said last week that Anwar would be appointed to a position equivalent to his status.
